Force 135 liberation Guernsey Jersey Flag 75th hand waving collectable
Force 135 was a combined military and naval flotilla tasked with liberating the Channel Islands from the German occupation during World War 2. Guernsey and Jersey were liberated and freed on 9th May 1945. The other islands were liberated soon afterwards.
To commemorate the 75th Liberation of Guernsey and Jersey, we have commisioned a series of collectible items to treasure, honouring both the liberating troops within Force 135, and the Islanders that had endured years of occupation, including this exclusive hand flag, which depicts the the background having a weather beaten Union flag design, symbolising the hardship of the islanders, and also beong one of the existing flags used within Guernsey and Jersey before and after the occupation. The crest of the Force 135 is shown in the upper left, with a silhouette of a soldier honouring those that suffered and died during the occupation. The poppies sybolise the solemn peace now established, and the writing commemorated the task Force 135 and date of libereation of the islands.
